Position: Telecom Analyst and Customer Support

SchooleyMitchell Telecom Consultants of Palo Alto is looking for a telecom professional interested in contract work performing bill analysis vendor negotiation, and customer support.


Schooley Mitchell Telecom Consultants (SMTC) is the largest independent telecom consulting organization in North America, with offices coast to coast in the US and Canada. Our office in Palo Alto specializes in providing recommendations for communications services that meet the unique needs of companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Schooley Mitchell's service includes a risk-free analysis of the client’s telecommunications services, including cellular services, local service, long distance, toll free, internet and data. SMTC analyzes past billings to ensure that clients are being billed correctly. SMTC prepares are presents a report with a recommended course of action. SMTC will assist clients during the implementation of recommendations, and provide ongoing monitoring of services to ensure that clients enjoy the optimum solution for their business needs.


Analyst responsibilities:

  • Analyze client bills and services to determine service cost and usage.
  • Obtain competitive bids for solutions optimized to meet customer needs.
  • Negotiate solutions with incumbent vendor and alternative vendors and ensure vendors deliver best-in-class pricing for the client.
  • Prepare Recommendation Report summarizing current services and describing cost-saving options.
  • Coordinate conversion of new service / or new pricing plan with supplier and client.
  • Make sure old accounts are discontinued if services are moved from one supplier to another.
  • Verify correct billing of new services.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of services and prepare quarterly report.
  • Be the point of contact for ongoing service issues, requests etc.
  • Make supplemental savings recommendations when appropriate.

  • Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience in telecom
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Detail oriented with analytical skills
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Complete Schooley Mitchell Training
  • References
